I had a friend ask me the other day how do you style a tank / one piece style bathing suit. A tank style suit or one piece swimsuit is a classic bathing suit style that is timeless, flattering and slimming. The classic tank swimsuit has wide straps, a round neckline with a low scooped out back. Tank suits are available in awesome colors and prints with cut outs, zippers or other style details. It is a great favorite whether you are 18 or 80. Style your classic tank suit with a skirt or a pair of shorts, a shirt style top, a straw beach hat and flip flops sandals. Summer is here, so if you are heading for the beach, a pool or sunny place you can wear your tank suit all around town to shop or for lunch or dinner.
Wearing shorts can be tricky. Some ladies do not like wearing shorts because they feel like they are showing too much skin. Wearing shorts can be the most practical choice some days, especially when you feel like you do not have anything to wear. However, there is a huge difference between wearing shorts that will make you look classy and wearing cut off short shorts. Obviously you do not want to be showing off half your butt. My suggestion is to wear neutral colored shorts, because they never goes out of style. Stay away from denim and go for a more tailored look. Shorts can even be professional if they are clean cut and the right length, much like a pair of dress pants. They can be very comfortable if you have them in a breathable fabric. Wear shorts that are mid thigh to keep it a little more conservative. If you have to constantly keep pulling your shorts down, then they are too short. Another thought is to style your shorts up! Collect tailored shorts that come in cute colors. For spring, light pastel colors are the best, such as lavender, light pink, yellow, and shades of blue. Finish up the professional look with a collared shirt, or a plain fitted V-neck that is tucked in. Wear a belt to keep those cute shorts in place and to have a crisp look. Shoes that are best with shorts are nude flats or a wedge shoe. This will give some length and height to your legs, especially if you are on the short side. Adding a blazer gives you a dressier touch. With these tricks you can put together an outfit that will beat the heat, while you stay cute and classy.

The temperature is rising, and the sun is finally shining. It is so close I can almost smell spring. You know what that means, outdoor party season is right around the corner. I cannot wait for cocktails on the back deck with friends, rooftop bashes and beach side soirees. So of course my first question is what I am going to wear? My first go to look is the maxi dress. They are super comfortable and versatile.
A festive outing is the perfect time to try out a super fun patterned pair of shorts. Just make sure the length of the shorts are age appropriate. If you are still not sure about the shorts thing, try a loose fitting silhouette with tailored elements like cuffed hems.
If you do not like maxi dresses or wearing shorts, then your best bet is the summer dress.
One of the best things about open air parties, is chatting with friends, dancing and enjoy a good drink under the stars. Outdoor parties can have different atmospheres and settings. They can be a casual hang out in the yard of a friend, a BBQ or a formal garden event. If the party is completely casual, you can wear whatever catches your fancy. Most of all enjoy yourself.
