Fashionable Faux Fur Vest

Ways to wear a faux fur vest might seem simple enough, right? Just throw it on and you are good to go. But there are plenty of different little things you can do to make your faux fur vest seem a bit more on trend. Instead of your usual faux fur jacket, which seems to cover up most of your outfit anyway, a faux fur vest opens up a range of different layering opportunities. Splashes of Orange

Summer is a time to bid adieu to the bulky, layered looks that dominate winter and even parts of spring. Each season the runways help dictate which fashions will dominate stores across the country. Orange is a vibrant hue poised to take this season by storm. Evoking feelings of warmth and sunshine, orange is an unexpected and bold color choice. Daring women can don head to toe orange, and really make a splash. However, there are some more subtle ways to don orange this season, including adding a pop of this vibrant color to shoes or belts. An orange lip and a peachy eye flatter many skin types. Such coral colors are reminiscent of tropical, coral backdrops, making them perfect for summers by the shore.

On Trend: High – Low Dresses

There are certain fashion staples that will always be in style, like classic red lips, a structured jacket or the LBD. But a mullet dress? That one may be up for debate. This high-low dress hem runs long in the back and shorter in the front. And whether you like a high-low dress or not, one thing is for sure, it is a great way to make a bold statement. When there is a sudden heat wave, the last thing you want to do is add layers, but not everyone feels comfortable wearing a mini skirt. A high-low dress is an ideal option when you can not decide what to wear. It is a great way to show off your legs without feeling as revealing as you would be in a mini skirt. Petite ladies can have a hard time finding a maxi dress that does not require a trip to the tailor. This hemline is the perfect solution for women who are on the shorter side. The focus is going to be on your legs and feet, so wearing a cute strappy sandal will look terrific. Skip a chunky platform or wedge, as that will compete with the delicate feeling of this flowy skirt. Also, do not over accessorize. Too much on your body can draw attention away from the beautiful cut of the dress. If you are on the curvier side, like myself, add a skinny belt to this dress to enhance your shape and cinch your midsection.

What Gretchen Wore

Today I opted to wear one of the biggest trends of spring 2014 – black and white. I started with my paisley white and black pencil skirt from Lane Bryant and paired it with a simple sleeveless blouse from Dress Barn. I added a red peep toe pump for a pop of color along with some accessories to bring the look together. Comfortable, on trend, and stylish.
