Yes it sounds crazy, but it is true!! You are not supposed to wash your jeans more than ten times a year even if you wear them often. Some would say that is even excessive. If you own a good pair of dark wash jeans (as everyone should) you should almost never wash them. Denim is designed to be durable. In fact, washing denim actually destroys it by losing its shape and color. When you do wash them, I suggest washing them inside out in the kitchen sink with a little Woolite. Then I would hang them to dry. Never use a washing machine or dryer. If you think they start to smell between washings, put them in the freezer overnight. No, I am not kidding. The lower temperature kills bacteria. Dark wash jeans should be a staple in your wardrobe, so keep them looking good by not washing them.
